Digital DTA

Mid-Hudson Cable has begun moving to a total digital platform effective April 1, 2013.   All TV’s that do not currently have a digital receiver will require a digital receiver or DTA adapter to receive the channels in our Basic cable package.  The DTA digital adapter(s) are part of our conversion from an analog/digital network to an all-digital network.  Our packages will remain the same, but all TV’s will need to have a set-top receiver or one of these “DTA” boxes in order to receive any channels.

If you have cable TV service with us and notice some channels are not coming in on older TV’s without a set top box or DTA contact us right away to get your DTA or for other options so you can get back to enjoying all of the great programming Mid-Hudson Cable has to offer.  The first channels moved are G4, GSN and Style.  We have many resources online for determining and requesting what you need along with instructions for connecting them.

Scheduled to move on March 15th, 2016 the following channels will be moving to the Digital Platform:

Do I Need DTA?

Mid-Hudson Cable is upgrading its Cable TV signal to All-Digital.   Digital technology has become an important part of all our lives and improves how much of today’s technology can be harnessed and used effectively.  We think cable TV should be no different.   In fact, we began a progression to digital almost 15 years ago with the construction of our enhanced fiber optic broadband cable system.

As you know from the network broadcaster transition that occurred in 2009, all people receiving antenna service were required to have a digital converter box.  Mid-Hudson Cable did not require our customers without set top receivers to make any changes at that time.  They could continue to get Basic cable channels without any extra equipment.  Now it has become essential for Mid-Hudson Cable to upgrade to al all-digital signal in order to add new channels, make adjustments to current packages and improve our service.

We will still offer the same channel packages (Basic, Digital Basic, & HD) but moving forward, all TV’s connected to our Cable system will need to have one of the following:

(A)Mid-Hudson DCT or DVR receiver or (B)Mid-Hudson DTA converter box

tcc2
